ALL IN. ALL READY. ALL CHARLOTTE. ALL YOURS.

Company History

We are Charlotte agents who know their stuff, protect you like your favorite aunt, and make you feel as good as your best friend's text in the middle of a stressful day.

When you choose our Dickens Mitchener team, you are putting your trust in the most talented, experienced, and technologically astute REALTORS® in the Charlotte region. We are committed to setting new standards for extraordinary customer service as well as providing our clients with intimate community knowledge and expertise. We've spent 30+ years perfecting our unique and effective business method to become your best source for residential real estate.

In 1991, our founder Vicky Mitchener set out to create a real estate agency unlike any other in the Charlotte region. Already a highly successful agent, she wanted to create an agency that would simplify the entire transaction process, while simultaneously providing clients with the ultimate real estate buying or selling experience. After assembling a team of the area's most knowledgeable professionals, she then integrated the use of the latest technologies and most advanced marketing concepts to create a business platform based on shared information and team communication. She installed computers for data management, a revolutionary upgrade in 1991, and also implemented a shared marketing program that each agent could access for self-promotion. This thoughtful approach to agent support quickly translated into sales success and established Dickens Mitchener as Charlotte's best source for residential real estate.

Today, our Dickens Mitchener team is comprised of more than 100 experienced real estate professionals who have mastered the latest trends of the ever-changing market and are dedicated to making every transaction as seamless as possible. Our agents are full-time experts who set the region's standard for innovative practices, client satisfaction, and outstanding results. With diverse backgrounds in business, law, sales, interior design, finance, and even nursing, each one of our agents brings a unique skill-set to the table. We are true neighborhood specialists, who have intimate knowledge of the region's most outstanding properties in Charlotte's most sought-after neighborhoods, from Ballantyne, and Belmont, to Myers Park, and Lake Norman. When you choose our team, you get access to more than 6,000+ resale listings through the Canopy Multiple Listing Service as well as an up-to-the-minute database of new listings, home developments, and homes for sale by owner.

Beyond Charlotte, Dickens Mitchener is specialized in offering premier relocation services virtually anywhere in the world. About the Founder

Vicky Headshot
North Carolina native Vicky Mitchener is the high-energy, driving force behind the Dickens Mitchener team of real estate professionals.

After graduating from Wake Forest University with a degree in political science, she began an award-winning career as an executive with Xerox. After five fulfilling years of travel, promotions, and intense corporate sales, this sales rep was ready for yet another career change and challenge. In 1988, Vicky became a licensed REALTOR® and eagerly entered the competitive Charlotte real estate market where she quickly established herself as one of the city's top agents.

She was not entirely satisfied with the inside operations of the local real estate industry. With her background in advanced technology, it was apparent to her that technology and marketing were exactly what the real estate industry needed to flourish so she founded Dickens Mitchener in 1991.

"Totally dedicated"

"Highly intuitive"

"A superb negotiator"

"Extremely positive, warm and caring"

From the very beginning, Vicky's vision was to create a forward-thinking, innovative, and strategic real estate firm based on the latest technologies and shared information. The goal was to simplify the entire process of real estate for both the agents and more importantly for the clients. This proved to be the recipe for real estate success and almost overnight, Dickens Mitchener evolved into Charlotte's premier residential real estate company. Through collaborative leadership, the company continues to flourish. She brings more than 30+ years of experience to the table and impressive sales of more than $40 million per year.

Vicky was nominated Entrepreneur of the Year by the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce in 1997 and was the recipient of the Women in Business Award from the Charlotte Business Journal in 1998. She is also a two-time recipient of the Fast 50 Business Journal Award.

She founded the Homeowners Impact Fund in 2020. The organization was created to end homelessness in our local community.

One of seven children, she grew up in the small town of Morganton, N.C. Vicky and her husband Bill live in Charlotte's Eastover neighborhood and are the proud parents of three daughters. She is a member of Christ Episcopal Church, an enthusiastic community volunteer, a former pilot, and an avid snow skier.
