Charlotte Ranked as One of the Best Places to Live in 2022


Niche recently announced the best places to live in 2022 in the U.S. based on public schools, affordable costs of living, low crime rates, and the overall satisfaction of their residents. Data also was pulled from the U.S. Department of Education, the Census Bureau, the FBI, and public-sentiment polling. Other factors included local commutes, diversity, health and fitness of its residents, and jobs. Only major cities with populations over 100,000 were considered.

Charlotte, NC landed #32 on the list due to its high quality of life. The Queen City has continued to prove itself as one of the best places to live in the U.S. with its affordable costs, good public schools, and the high employment rate. It has attracted many to relocate to the “old fashioned southern charm and high-energy cosmopolitan bustle” city.

Woodlands, Texas topped the list as the best place to live in the U.S., and Raleigh, North Carolina came in at #17. Raleigh was highly rated due to its public schools, employment rate, and affordable cost of living. 

The city of Charlotte’s population is almost 875,000 and growing more every day. According to reviews on Niche, living in the Queen City is described as an “urban-suburban mix” feel. There are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Niche also ranked Charlotte #41 as the best city to raise a family.
