From the big stage to the smaller stages around town, we are excited to share with you the many live performances planned for the remainder of 2021 and 2022. Blumenthal Performing Arts Center
Wicked kicked off on September 8th and is running through October 3, 2021. This show is always a favorite when it is on tour. All the Harry Potter fans love Potted Potter, a comedic spin on all 7 books in 70 minutes. RENT is also coming in November and they are billing it as the “Final Season of Love.” See the events being offered at all venues on their website.
PNC Broadway Lights Series
The long awaited return of the PNC Broadway Lights Series is happening in January of 2022. Buy your season tickets now and have a seat for Hamilton when it comes back to town next year. Charlotteans remember waiting in line for hours to score a ticket to the hot show the last time it was here. See the ticket options here.
Theatre Charlotte is celebrating its 94th season in Charlotte. The building is currently undergoing construction from fire damage, but will take the shows “on the road”. See the list of events on their website.
CPCC Performing Arts Center
Central Piedmont offers a variety of musicals, opera, and family events such as “The Nutcracker” performed by the Charlotte Youth Ballet. The state-of-the-art facilities are spectacular. If you have never seen a performance there, this may be the time for you to go. See the events taking place through December of this year.
Children’s Theatre of Charlotte
The Children’s Theatre of Charlotte was first established in 1948 and has grown into the best way to introduce children to theater. Located in the Imaginon building in uptown Charlotte, this theatre continues to “WOW” audiences of all ages. From the whimsical performances of “The Velveteen Rabbit” to the Broadway musicals of “Shrek” and “Matilda”, the theater has it all. See the 2021-22 season schedule here.
The Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte
“Actor’s Theatre is the only professional theater in the region that dedicates its entire programming to new works that are daring, offbeat and, yes, sometimes controversial.” Don’t miss “The Rocky Horror Show” which kicks-off on October 6, 2021. See all events here.
